Engineering & maintenance Department
One hotel might have a large engineering staff that includes plumbers, carpenters, painters, electricians, and other
technicians.
  The role of any engineering department is the protection of the hotel assets. 

Activities of  Engineering and maintenance department:
  1. Saving the integrity of the floors, walls, ceilings, furniture, fixtures, and equipment. 
  2. Making preventive maintenance, repair, replacement, improvement and modification to everything in the hotel.
  3. Ensuring uninterrupted provision of utilities (gas, electricity, water). 
  4. Make sure that all the equipment, plumbing, electricity, and Building facilities are working properly 
  5. Maintenance of building and equipment 
  6. Grounds keeping including landscape, pools and spas
